Nick In A Box

Nicholas was playing around with a box today while I was checking my e-mail in the office. When I turned around he was sitting in the box... luckily my camera was sitting right next to me so I got to capture this shot.... What a ham!!!!


I am involved in an ATC swap with the ladies at scrap-room.com... it's a little challenging for me as you have to create something on a 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 card.... playing card size... well, the one for this month is not themed so here is what I came up with... the next swap starts next week and the theme is St. Patrick's Day... so we shall see how I do. I think the more I work with it the better I will get. Not to bad for the 1st time around....

Embellishment Fun!

We went to Joann's Fabric yesterday and I let Nicholas pick out some embellishments so that he could scrap around with me... he was so cute walking around Joann's... talking 100 miles per minute. He had his basket and just had alot of funny picking out things he wanted...

Prayer Scrap

I had a "Prayer Scrap" tonight with a bunch of ladies from one of my mommies groups. We had a fabulous time... my friend Lily's project turned out really cute... the others were not quit finished with theirs but I saw their ideas and just know they will all be just as cute. Since I had already made one for Nick's room several months eariler... I decided to create one with the Lord's Prayer. I am actually going to give this one to my mother... and make another one for myself. This project was created on a 12 x 12 canvas.

Marble Run

Nicholas finally got his Marble Run that he has been wanting. He actually found it while looking on "YouTube"... and from then on could not stop talking about it. This is the $15.99 set and you can change it around into 5 different set-ups. It's pretty cool. I actually enjoy following the marble. There are other sets that go up to about $80 so you can imagine what you can get...

Anyway, I am still sick but feeling better.... My throat is still sore and these antibiotics make be sooo thirsty. Guess that is a good thing... Drink, Drink, Drink!!

Rodeo Fun & Mexican Food

Well, we have been wanting to go to the rodeo grounds for a while now and kept putting it off for some reason or another and finally tonight we decided to go. Although I have been sick....I sucked it up and went because I wanted Nicholas to have a wonderful Friday night and of course, I LOVE the rodeo. I love walking through the barns looking at all the animals, the carnival, the food, the music and of course all the vendors.

We didn't get to go to the actual rodeo this year and did not go last year because we were on a cruise... but the year before we went and also before that and had a blast...

Actually, I have always wanted to have a horse and learn to barrel race... and still do. Never say never!!

Anyway, after the rodeo we went to eat at Pico De Gallo and had some yummy mexican food...

We had a wonderful Friday night... just me and my boys.

I decided to go to the Texas Med Clinic tonight and found out I have Tonsillitis and an Ear Infection. YUCK!! I went to get my medicine from Walgreen's and one of the medications has Codeine in it... Whoo Hooo!! I am getting sleepy as I am writting.

Nicholas would not put on the cowboy hat and was a little nervous at sitting on the bull even though he was not real... he played with my hair... Silly Boy!!

Sick, Sick, Sick

Sorry its been so long since I updated but Nicholas was sick for a couple of days and then I got sick... Nick is ok and I am getting better...still have a sore throat but at least the achy part is over with. My mom came over yesterday to entertain Nicholas while I slept for about 3 hours... It was great!! Thanks Mom!!

I managed to get out of the house today to get my hair done and it felt so good when the lady massaged my head... loved it!!

We haven't been able to do a thing... but we are looking forward to the Rodeo tomorrow and the train exhibit on Sunday... so stay tuned for many pictures.

Proud Of Nicholas

Nicholas recites his ABC's well. Check it out!!! He still pronounces "S" like "X".... I am working on it with him but he just can't get it out... he knows what the S looks like and says, "S is for snake".... but in the ABC's it sounds like X... Anyway, I am very proud of him.

He can also count to 15 and then says 17, 19, 20... too cute!!

He can also sing, "Row, Row, Row Your Boat"...

Valentine Evening

Nicholas and I attempted to make Chocolate Covered Strawberries today... but the chocolate would not melt right... it said melt for 30 seconds and then stir... it also said, melt for another two minutes but stir every 30 seconds and it just would not work... stayed clumpy and finally started to burn.... so we did not make them but we did get to eat the Strawberries... Maybe God was telling us we did not need the Chocolate... oh well, I thought it would be fun being Valentine's Day and all.



My parents came over this evening and had dinner. I made Yummy Taco Soup and cornbread muffins.... it was delish! My nephew brought over his girlfriend and they had dinner with us as well.

By the way, Carlos is fishing this weekend and on his way home from the coast this evening. He caught about 7 Red Snapper among other fish... so I smell a fish fry coming on...

We went to Red Robin today with my parents and my nephew Austin... it was delicious and we had a great time as always.

Todays Adventures

Well, today Nicholas and I went shopping to get him some new tennis shoes... Pawpaw gave us money to go buy shoes as he always does... I think he has bought almost all of Nick's shoes... SWEET!! Thanks Dad!!

We also went to the park in our neighborhood today and Nicholas was playing with a little girl... they talked and talked and talked... Wow, did they talk. They were sooo darn cute. There were so many cute toddler comments made it was so cute.. did I mention it was cute?

Anyway, Nicholas wanted to make some Valentine's so I let him. I gave him some hearts, buttons and flowers and he went to work.. I took a picture of one of them... only 3 lucky people will be receiving cards made by Nick.... when Pap came home we stamped all the envelopes and went to put them in the mailbox... Nicholas was so excited.

Today In The Life

Well, today was a slow day. Nicholas and I have been home all day. I did a little laundry and cleaned a little. My dad came by and helped us pick-up all the balls... 100's... in the back yard... also chalk pieces that Nicholas decided would be fun to break... YACK!!!!

Nick and I made a few art projects and I cooked a Roast for dinner...

Todays Happenings

Well, today we went to have dinner with my parents at Jim's. We had Soup & Salad... Love the Tortilla Soup. After Jim's, my mom and I went to the post office so that I could mail a fee packages and then off to Sam's to do a little shopping... mostly meats. We went back to my parents house and separated the meats and I used my mom's vacuum seal to seal the meat up after we divided the portions.

I got a new top of the line freezer for my birthday... just as I always wanted. Thank you dad and Austin for hauling it and placing it where it goes while we were out of town... you are the best!

I bought a frame today for Nicholas picture I had enlarged for his play-room... it looks great. My dad came over this evening to hang it... thanks again dad!!



I also made Chicken Piccata over Angel Hair Pasta with Green Beans for dinner tonight... it was delish!!

Coast Trip
